Just got back from a trip to Vegas and Los Angeles. It was a hectic week full of walking, eating, and sleeping, and I had absolutely no time to draw. So instead, I had to take loads of pictures. :S

Gonna post the piccies starting with...

Vegas!

There were loads of rocks

and funky statues,

saw the Grand Canyon, which wasn't quite exciting,

saw the world's largest projection screen, the world's largest gold nugget,

and the world's coolest feet.

Favourite place? Definitely the Venetian.

And can't forget McDonald's steak sandwich.

Been working on a sketchbook for portfolio, trying to fill up at least 2 pages (double sided) a day.
Other half of sketchbook are doodles of more realistic women, but they're ugly. :(

but he was taken :(,

so now I cry myself to sleep every night.

Watched the Chinese 60th Anniversary parade with my parents during the Thanksgiving weekend. My mom got real excited when the soldiers came marching out.

Haven't been feeling quite well for the past week... I had some stomach problems, but that's over with. My seafood allergy's been real strong again all of a sudden, and I've been getting these weird chest pains. Then I caught the flu 2 days ago from my dad, and I just realized I've dropped a large amount of weight in the past 2 weeks. Deadly yes? :S

My drawing stuff has all been packed up, so I have absolutely nothing new to show. Next time I'll update will probably be after the first day of school, gonna hopefully scan some old school stuff.

Got my eyes checked yesterday. Apparently there's something growing on the back of my eye that may eventually affect my vision. Ah well, at least my degree hasn't increased for the past 4 years, even though I camp in front of the computer/TV every second of my waking life. :)

I'm not sure why, but I've been feeling really stressed out for the past few days. I haven't been able to sleep for 3 nights now, and these migraines are just insane. My dinner haven't been staying in my body real long either, I'm wondering if I just got infected with some deadly disease or the like.

My PSP arrived yesterday~~ No, the screen is perfectly scratch free, that streak is some weird reflection. It came with a few games that I'm planning to sell (>_>), and this HUGE 5lb PSP case. PSPs have really ugly cases. :/

It only took around 10min to mod, but appearantly it's currently impossible to run PSX games on my model. Bah. :( Oh well, can't play much anymore, school is just around the corner.

I was requested to do a lil... "how I draw" sequence thing, so doodled up a drawing of Clotho. This took 2 hours, which is way longer than I usually spend, cause I wasn't too happy with the pose/details. :S

Rough sketches~ The pose is very important to me, so I doodle 5-10 real rough scribbles till I find a pose that feels okay. Then I stick on some guidelines/minor details...

And poof! :D

Okay, so it's not the most helpful thing in the world... I kept getting distracted and forgot to take more screenies. xD;;;

Hmm... been watching too much Project Runway lately. :S

Still waiting for PSP, getting nervous nervous nervous~ I will totally cry if it cannot be modded since I purchased it almost exclusively to play old PS1 games. PS1 and SNES (and PS2) are definitely my favourite consoles of all time, and I cannot wait to relive the old days on a handheld. <3

There's this 6 year old boy whom I've been trying to teach the alphabet to every morning for the past 2 months. It's quite frustrating that he still cannot identify any of the letters, or even sing the alphabet song. My mom warned me that he might have a learning disability, but I've been told to just keep trying. This non-progress thing really makes me feel useless, and I don't think the boy likes me much when I'm trying to drill all those letters through his head. :/

A character commission for someone from a MMORPG. I'm gonna try to do a lotta commissions before school starts so I don't have to grind as much when I play. xD;;

It's fun doing fan art, actually. I've never been a fan of doing fanart (except Dante, he's too hot to pass up <3), but it's nice to start a piece of drawing with half of the planning already done. Looks like my yucky anime style is gonna have to stay around a lil longer though. :S

I think I am officially addicted to eBay... I just bought a brand new shiny PSP for $100!!! Just hoping and praying that it's not a scam, it sounded just too good to be true... especially since they're $190 after taxes around here. @__@;;

Edit: Bahaha I just found out that the $100 PSP turned out to be a copycat that plays NES/GBA/Genesis/other 32-bit stuff. I canceled my payment but found another one that comes with lotsa extra goodies for $140. :P

After looking through a list of PSP games, though, I really can't say that the wannabe is any bad. There's at least 50x more worthwhile games to play on that than Sony's thumb-killing machine. Oh well, I'll feel better when the new Metal Gear comes out. <3

Btw, these are the two crappy games Squeenix had been working on instead of FFXIII. Ok, so the gameplay(s)'s not bad, but the stories are so overdone that it's barfable, and Squeenix's QC department probably got abducted by aliens.

My voice was really husky this morning. I really liked how it sounded and got busy chatting with every kid who dared to cross my path. By noon, my voice was completely gone.

My brother's friend from camp called this afternoon. Our short convo went something like this:

Him: Hi, is Darren home?
Me: No, call back after 7.
Him: Ok... who are you?
Me: His sister.
Him: Oh... (long pause) What's your name?
Me: Yo kid, you ain't old enough to try that on me k?
(hangs up)

Ok no, I didn't say that. In fact, I probably sounded like a 50 year old pedophile more than anything. That explains the long pauses. :D

So here are my new babies~! I got them on Tuesday, and I swear I almost hugged the delivery man (he was pretty hot xD;;)~!!! They're perfectly wrapped, and are gonna stay that way.

These games have been listed on eBay for $150+ (each!) for ages now, cause Atlus is known to never make more copies than the number of preorders. To my surprise, they decided to issue a REPRINT! So of course I stocked up right away~

Nocturne is definitely one of the BEST RPGs ever made, and it's not for the faint of heart. I've lost countless hours on this game; savepoints come BEFORE bosses, not AFTER! >_< But the atmosphere in this game is just incredible, kinda like Silent Hill but not really... @_@

More games arriving tomorrow (hopefully), though they're nowhere as exciting. :S

Lol to Microsoft doing a Halo anime. They managed to get 5 of Japan's top animu companies to work on it (BONES! *nosebleeds*). The trailer was a bit deceiving, there seemed to be many styles... Or maybe it's gonna be like Animatrix? One studio one episode one style? :S

But more importantly, I'm praying that they don't mess up the Halo saga. And here's to hoping that they keep Chief's sexy voice. :)

Comic-Con's running right now! It's the one convention that I've always wanted to go. Ah, to breathe the same air as Stan Lee... *faints*

So Resident Evil dude confirmed that Wesker died at the end of RE5, which is TOTAL BS YES??? (I mean, he's only died in EVERY RE GAME >_>) They're planning to reboot the series with RE6, but I'm just hoping they keep the original cast (INCLUDING SEXY WESKER YES?). IMO that's just another way of admitting how different (sucky?) RE5 is compared to the rest of the series.

I started watching Gargoyles today. It's a more.. mature animated series done by Disney back in 94 and was later canceled in 97. I've never heard of it since I was still in China back then, but I recently found out that Titania and Oberon's relationship played a part in the storyline, and I'm a sucker for anything mythological. :)

I have to say, compared to all the amazingly crappy shows Disney coughs out nowadays, the animation in Gargoyles is just absolutely gorgeous. Even the secondary characters in the background are animated so fluidly, and the dramatic poses are so inspiring.

And if my memory servers me right... I do believe my painting teacher mentioned something bout painting several backgrounds for the show. :O

We went to African Lion Safari today, which is a drive-through zoo that houses mostly endangered species. My dad was like "please don't touch my car" the entire time, since monkeys and deers were chasing down cars all over the place. I broke my back carrying my sketchbook around, but my dad was too busy scaring the animals and refused to keep the car still. So I just took a bazillion pictures. Thanks dad. =__=

We saw a parrot show near the end, and my mom got excited and suggested we get a cockatiel. I'm not crazy bout birds, but at least that confirms my mom's opinion on me buying another pet. :D

My roomies all know that I absolutely refuse to eat instant noodle, even if I'm stuck on the edge of the world with nothing but a bowl of instant noodle. Went to BestBuy today and found this cute camera on sale for a really good price. It's literally the size (and thickness!) of a pack of gum yet the picture quality is excellent with a little help from Photoshop. My dad was hesitant cause he was eyeing a digital SLR, so the manager threw in a $40 leather case for free.

I can finally retire my cellphone camera, though that might not be such a good thing since the only reason I use my cellphone is to take pictures. :S

There I posted it happy Snowy? >_> Argh oC's paintbrush is so much more anal than I remember it, and my already fugtastic CGing skills had decided to take a hike. Oh those barf-worthy colours... Had to plaster some textures over it to make it viewable (watch your eyes!).

I realized my blog doesn't have a "view older posts" button, a few friends have complained about getting lost (really now people? More work for me?). In order to add that button though, I'll have to trash this layout and learn a new coding language, and frankly I'd rather have other people get lost on my blog than do that. But yes, I'll work up another layout soon.

I haven't been able to create a new post for 3 days now. A new error has been running around Blogspot apparently, and bah it's annoying. :/ I did manage to find a new way to create posts, but it takes much longer than clicking on a button. Meh.

Anyway, since Snowy was so curious... We went to a lil farm town called St.Jacobs on Sunday. Mommy really wanted to go eat pork hocks in this small German restaurant. Those things were gigantic! The piccy's really blurry cause the lighting inside was pretty dim, and daddy couldn't wait to start eating... It looked really mushy and stuff, but mommy (and Taffy) really liked it.

My dad wanted me to order a plate of veal, to which I started making a big fuss about. The waitress was laughing at daddy and me so he let me get chicken instead. I only ate the sidedishes though, but it smelled really good. :O

I've been playing (and sucking at) Halo 3 lately. It's actually my first shooter game, and I did originally purchase Xbox360 with the intention of learning how to play FPSes. My eyes have always been real sensitive to moving things, and so shooting games on the PC make me real dizzy. I think playing Halo and Resident Evil has helped, but then there's the problem with my non-existent hand-eye coordination. :/

Soooo much good stuff at E3 this year. Natal and Lionhead's way too ambitious me thinks, and like 80% of the games announced are sequels (Mass Effect 2!! :DD). I shed a tear while watching the trailer for MGS Peacewalker (OMG Outer Heaven! *cries*), I totally loved MGS3 and Big Boss is one of my biggest heroes. Gonna pick up a PSP just for him~~ <3

And then Imma go steal a PS3 to play Last Guardian, and gonna cry my eyes out the entire time. ICO and Shadow of the Colossus are the reasons why I wanna make games someday. :(

I decided last night that I suck at drawing, and so I'm learning how to draw from the beginning. That means lots of shamelessly bad drawings for the next few months.

I ran over to an old friend's house today so he could help me install Photoshop CS4 since Painter's too rebellious. It didn't activate properly, but he ended up showing me this painting tutorial by Andrew Jones. It was just so... inspirational. Every piece of his work is like an spiritual journey of some kind.

So my prettiful Painter decided to throw a royal fit and totally delete my entire brushes + pattern + texture library, and of course I'm not in the greatest mood. It's backed up and stuff but Painter is too anal and is just spitting bugs at me. That and I've been really hating on my drawing style. UGH.

And then SquareEnix decides to announce Final Fantasy XIV at E3. Okay, pretty trailer, but I've stopped being excited bout Squeenix ever since Enix came along and made Square a money printer. They made more craptastic games than the number of clothing I own. AND WHERE'S XIII??????

Assassin's Creed 2 better pwn or Imma go stab someone. :(

There's a really nice warehouse near the airport, and they have some amazing sales every other month or so. I picked up like SOOOO much makeup and it was only around $40. Mom was so happy cause I only spend money on games. I've bought 6 games just last month, but I haven't even opened a single one of them yet... I feel so empty inside...

BAAHHH got caught up preping stuff for summer camp. 1 more month till it starts~! Nothing interesting happened lately, I've been busy working on a schedule for the art class I'm hired to teach starting in July. It's quite hard to come up with 50 things to draw, and even harder to keep them interesting. I was never taught how to draw myself, so it'll be a big challenge I think, especially since the students are really young kids. :S

Going to watch Star Trek again tomorrow, cause it's such an awesome movie. But every time Spock appears, I just can't get this scene out of my head...

Haven't drawn anything worth posting, my arm's been really stiff-feeling. Been fiddling with my cellphone lately, and found out that it can take some not-so-bad quality photos too. Such amazing phones, them Sony Ericssons. ;D

I was like OMGYES! when I found this in the bargain bin... Collector's Edition for only $7!!! This is full of Clint Eastwood Hotness and plus daddy's favourite genre is Western (we watched 3:10 to Yuma together 3 times~~ :D). Just looking at it makes me happy~ xD

And ohohoh check it out, right before a storm moves in...

OMGOMG Tabby tabby tabby~ Woke up at 8 to wait for the delivery man to drop from the glowing heavens above to deliver my baby... And he ended up getting here at 2. BUT IT'S HERE!

The packaging is mighty pretty, even though the Canadian customs totally busted it up (the cardboard box it was shipped in got 5 coatings of tape. D:). Compared to this, my 6 year old tiny Graphire2 was like painting with a stick compared to some sable-haired $600 paintbrush.

I have *cough*stolen*cough* BORROWED my roomie's gigantica (9x12Intuos3) before, and compared to that, Intuos4 is better but still lacking. The ExpressKeys got a LCD upgrade, but the panel itself is really... shiny, which means fingerprints galore. The buttons are annoyingly hard to press down, but the LCD thingies are way cool! (It does lag though when changing text. =S) The touch-ring is like an iPod on your keyboard, except this one refuses to rotate canvas on Painter~~~ T_T

And the pretty nibs~~ They're really pretty to look at, but I think they're more of a "pros" tool. The surface of the drawing area is really matte though, so the nibs might wear down faster than older versions. But it does give it a nice graphite-on-paper feel. <3>
